Menopause: Not a Farewell to Womanhood, but a Gateway to Wisdom
We, as women, go through many different cycles in life. Pregnancy, motherhood, and menopause are perhaps the stages where we experience the greatest change and transformation. In each cycle, our needs and expectations evolve. In each phase, we meet a different version of ourselves — sometimes we love her, sometimes we don’t.
With menopause, a new act of life begins — a stage where a woman rediscovers her identity. To me, it’s a magnificent cycle of women who defy the past and embody wisdom through experience.
Today, the number of women entering early menopause is increasing. While the normal age range is considered between 45 and 55, it now often occurs between 30 and 40. The biggest factor behind this is undoubtedly the stress load brought by modern life.
The cultural codes embedded in our subconscious around menopause wear women down more than they should. In my classes, I’ve worked with so many women’s bodies and observed very similar patterns in each of them.
Please don’t turn this process into suffering with negative conditioning. Enjoy your experiences and relationships. Live the most beautiful stage of your life. Perhaps these are the very years when you will feel your feminine energy most deeply. Who knows?

Yoga Prepares Women for Menopause
As a new curtain of life rises — the wisest phase of womanhood — menopause takes on a deeper meaning with yoga.
Through yoga, it’s possible to experience menopause with more calmness and awareness at every stage of the cycle. As estrogen levels drop, tissue elasticity and bone density decrease, and the nervous system begins to wear down. At this point, yoga offers one of the most profound forms of support. It both alleviates symptoms and strengthens the body. The adrenal glands relax, and cortisol levels are balanced.
The most miraculous aspect of yoga is its ability to hydrate the skin. How? Through Yin Yoga, we nourish the inner layers of our tissues. As the fascia that envelops our muscles and joints becomes hydrated from within, the body regains its holistic vitality.
Fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, depression, hot flashes, sudden mood changes, nausea, and forgetfulness — the “unwelcome companions” of menopause — can all be eased and even released through yoga.
