Murad Başar, who graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1989, completed his specialty training at Ankara Turkey High Specialization Hospital Urology Clinic. He conducted research in Italy from 1994 to 1995 on Male Sexual Dysfunction and Penis Surgery. He worked at Ankara Numune Hospital and Ankara Sevgi Hospital IVF Unit – Andrology Department. He started working as an Assistant Professor at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and became a Professor in 2007.
From 2008 to 2011, he worked as a consultant physician at HRS Women’s Health and IVF Center, focusing on male infertility. He received specialized training in microsurgery at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy’s Microsurgery Unit and in Testicular Sperm Extraction (Micro TeSe) at Cornell University in New York. From 2011 to 2021, he worked at Memorial Şişli Hospital as a Urology/Andrology specialist before starting his private clinic.
Murad Başar has 176 publications, including 99 international ones, and has presented 170 conference papers. He is involved in various editorial boards and peer-review roles for national and international journals.
He has also been involved in numerous research projects supported by TÜBİTAK and Kırıkkale University.
His expertise includes Male Infertility, Male Sexual Health, Aging Male, Late-Onset Hypogonadism, and prostate diseases.
He is a member of the American Urology Association, European Society for Impotence Research, European Association of Urology, International Society of Sexual and Impotence Research, Society of the Study of Male Reproduction, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, International Continence Society, Turkish Urology Association, Turkish Andrology Association, Continence Association, and Endourology Association.
