Dr. Dietitian Melike Şeyma Deniz completed her high school education at Nişantaşı Anatolian High School. After graduating from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Yeditepe University in 2012, she began her master’s degree at Başkent University the same year.
During her postgraduate studies, she actively worked in a private clinic in Istanbul, gaining extensive experience in nutritional therapy for weight loss, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases. She completed her thesis titled “Determining the Relationship Between Sleep Duration, Energy Expenditure, and Food Intake”, earning the title of Specialist Dietitian.
In 2014, she started working as a specialist dietitian at Acıbadem Fulya Hospital, where she was responsible for both the nutritional treatment of inpatients and overseeing kitchen processes, as well as working in outpatient clinics. In her outpatient practice, she followed patients with obesity, diabetes, thyroid disorders, cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal conditions, and those in pregnancy and lactation periods. In the clinical setting, she mainly served in orthopedic, oncology, and surgical departments.
While working at the hospital, she also began her doctoral studies at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University. She completed her Ph.D. thesis titled “Evaluation of the Relationship Between Adherence to the Mediterranean Diet and Blood TMAO Levels” and was awarded the title of Doctor Dietitian in 2021.
Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous congresses and symposiums, and has deepened her professional perspective through training in functional medicine dietetics and psycho-dietetics. After receiving her training in functional medicine dietetics in 2019, she began working actively in this field.
In 2022, she left Acıbadem Fulya Hospital and established her own nutrition consultancy center under the name “Melike Şeyma Deniz Sustainable Nutrition Consultancy.”
Around the same time, she took on an academic role as Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Fenerbahçe University and later served as Head of the Department. As of 2025, she continues her academic work at Istinye University, where she teaches courses on adult disease nutrition, nutrition in aging, sustainable nutrition, functional nutrition, community nutritional assessment, and epidemiology. She also delivers trainings and seminars on various online platforms.
